Eduardo Villafranca
Eduardo Villafranca has built his career on the unshakable principles of Corporate Social Responsibility with special detail in the tourism sector. More than two decades ago
he opened the Hotel Punta Islita which eventually became the first ecological and socially responsible tourism project in Costa Rica and the first hotel in the region included in the list of the World’s Top 100 Hotels by Travel & Leisure and Condé Nast.
A few years later Mr. Villafranca launched a similar orientation project called El Silencio Lodge & Spa. This time he not only implements the same values that he used at the Punta Islita Hotel but he also improved this system. This is how the Pentapilar Model has created a comprehensive management system that considers the well-being of five key groups: staff customers and suppliers community strategic alliances and the environment.
